Late Race Charge Gives Lee Grand National Victory At Beaver Dam

Roger Lee charges to the lead in the Grand National A-Main. Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway was Boy Scout Night. Some of the Boy Scouts had a few tents set up to camp at the Raceway for the night.
The night started with the Legend car heat races. The first heat race winner was the 21B of Eric Barth. The 87R of DJ Ross received the checkered flag in the second heat. The third and final heat of the Legends went to the 2M of Mike Mueller.
The Grand Nationals raced two heat races following the Legends. The first heat race was won by the 69T of Tim Thompson. The winner of the second heat was the 51W of Kodiak Wirtz.
The next division to race their three heat races were the Street Stocks. The checkered flag in the first heat went to the 44B of Kelly Brown. The second heat was won by the 21M of Rodney Mundt. The 67J of Jeff Jesberger won the last heat of the Street Stock division.
After the track was briefly watered down, the Sports Modifieds raced their two heat races. The first heat started with eight cars and was narrowed down to four by the end of the race. The winner of the first heat was the 62S of Jeff Schepp. The second heat race was won by the 66C of Colten Van Hierden.
The last division of heat races were raced by the Modifieds. The first heat was won by the 13L of Eddie Lemay Jr. The checkered flag for the second heat went to the 16S of Dave Schoenberger. The last heat race was led and won by the 89S of Noah Schepp.
T-Shirts were thrown out to the crowd during the break between the heat races and the A-Mains.
The first A-Main was raced by the Legends. There were 23 cars racing in the race. After three long cautions, the 54R of Ethan Ross from Reeseville grabbed the Legend A-Main win.
The Grand Nationals raced their A-Main next. Points leader, the 10L of Roger Lee from Wind Lake, was in the middle of the pack with only five laps to go. Lee charged to the front of the pack for the Grand National A-Main win.
The next A-Main was raced by the Street Stocks. During the race, the 21M of Rodney Mundt went off the large track onto the gokart track. Mundt raced a technical lap on the gokart track, but was still put to the back of the pack. The Street Stock A-Main winner was the R1 of Kyle Riedner from Waunakee.
The Sports Modifieds raced their A-Main next. Sixteen cars started out the race, while only seven cars ended up finishing. The 69K of Travis Kleindl from Beaver Dam grabbed the checkered flag for his first career A-Main win.
The last A-Main was raced by the Modifieds. The X1 of Craig Priewe from Beaver Dam and the 99X of Jeremy Christians from Horicon battled for the lead in the last few laps of the race. Christians, the points leader, raced to the checkered flag for his first A-Main win of the season.
Next Saturday night, the regular five divisions will race their weekly program.
