Title Sponsor of the Touring Star Program Pays Off For Drivers
(Wednesday, April 28, 2010) The American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and grandstay.net is excited to announce the return of The Swiss Colony, Inc. And RaceTeamGear.com as official sponsors for the ASAMT. The Swiss Colony, Inc. (parent company of RaceTeamGear.com) will be providing the uniforms for all series officials as well as sponsoring the Touring Stars this season.
"We are very proud of our past association with the ASA Midwest Tour from the series inception and with all of its fine sponsors. We have seen the series develop into one of the finest series in the nation, so much so, we sponsor three different drivers in the series and wanted to take our sponsorship to the next level," Hunter explained.
The Swiss Colony, Inc. Is one of the world's fastest growing and most profitable catalog companies. In 1926, inspired by the small town cheese operations, Ray Kubly opened America's premier mail-order cheese company. Over the years, the company has expanded, delivering an incredible selection of top-quality food gifts and added new brands that market thousands of items - from apparel and jewelry to housewares and electronics.
"Swiss Colony has been involved in regional short track racing for over 12 years," Joe Hunter, Vice President for The Swiss Colony, Inc. Stated. "From early on, we have realized that our association with motor sports has helped with our local name recognition and our employee recruitment efforts. We also have developed a large employee following and a great deal of pride among our employees related to our racing program."
In 2007, Swiss Colony launched a new online business called RaceTeanGear.com. "We wanted to take a slightly different approach to this business by making it a company run by race fans; for race fans. We have taken our involvement in racing to the next level with the launch of our online retail business dedicated to the national racing fans," Hunter explained. "RaceTeamGear.com was developed to offer race fans officially licensed merchandise from their favorite teams and drivers at the NASCAR Sprint Cup level. RaceTeamGear.com offers the same high quality merchandise that can only be purchased at the trackside vendors from the top national racing superstars including Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and many more. As part of the website, race fans have the option to buy now and pay later with RTG credit. We encourage everyone to visit RaceTeamGear.com for more information."
"Joe Hunter and his group at The Swiss Colony are great supporters of local and regional racing," Steve Einhaus, ASAMT VP stated. "We are thrilled that they have stepped up to become an official sponsor of the ASAMT and also thankful for providing high quality uniforms for all of our officials."
In 2010, Swiss Colony and RaceTeamGear.com are once again showing their commitment and dedication to stock car racing by increasing their level of involvement and sponsorship in the ASAMT. As the new title sponsor of the ASA Midwest Swiss Colony Touring Star program, each Touring Star driver as well as the highest finishing rookie will receive a $300 cash bonus for each race.
ASAMT President, Tim Olson and Vice President Steve Einhaus are looking forward to what the increased involvement of The Swiss Colony will do for the ASAMT. "Swiss Colony really picked up the mitt and got in the game which will make a major impact on all of our Touring Stars and those that are gunning for Touring Star status next year. It was important for us to give back to the racers with the added bonus. Raising the Touring Star bonus to $300 will help every one of those teams get to the track on race day and that is our focus."
Joe Hunter and the crew from Swiss Colony and RaceTeamGear.com are some of the most passionate auto racing supporters around and their involvement with the ASA Midwest Tour continues to help take the series to new levels. In addition to the Swiss Colony Touring Star program in 2010, they have jumped at the opportunity to be a huge part of the ASAMT television broadcasts. This will include supplying two in-car cameras for Nate Haseleu and Jonathan Eilen at each event, the first of which is this Sunday, May 2nd at Madison International Speedway for the 2nd Annual Joe Shear Classic. "What a great way to market their companies while supporting all of the competitors in the Tour and working together with the ASAMT in a big way," added Einhaus.
