2008 CSR WISCONSIN STATE CHAMPION JOINS THE ASA MIDWEST TRUCK TOUR IN 2010

(Tuesday, April 27, 2010) Fifteen-year-old Kyle Brinkmann started racing sprint karts when he was only seven years old. Over the past eight years, the young driver has continued to move through various racing classes, finding success in each one. In 2010, the Elkhorn, WI native will make the biggest jump of his career. Brinkmann will be behind the wheel of his Kyle Brinkmann Racing, LLC (KBR) #52 McGuienigill powered Chevy Silverado for the inaugural ASA Midwest Truck Tour racing season.

"It has been a pleasure getting to know the Brinkmann family. Not only are they extremely positive and supportive of the plans for the Tour, Kyle and his father Dave are also stepping up to take charge in the division, which is important for the entire ASAMTT. Kyle is extremely talented and has a great willingness to learn from the veterans and we are confident that he will do very well and quickly earn the respect of his competitors," stated Steve Einhaus, ASAMT Vice President.

Brinkmann found victory lane early in his career, taking home victories in both 2005 and 2006 in the 2-Cycle Jr. Sportsman division at Badger Raceway. The 2003 Sugar River Raceway Kart School graduate took the next step in his career in 2007 racing in the CSR Super Cup Series. In his first year with the series, Brinkmann collected one feature win, three heat race victories, finished third in overall series points, and earned the 2007 Rookie of the Year title. Brinkmann's success was just getting started. In 2008, he claimed the CSR Wisconsin State Championship and finished second in National Points. Along with his three feature wins, seven heat victories and one pole position during that year, the young driver proved he was on the fast track.

After a consistent season of top-ten finishes in all of the USST Truck series races in 2009, Brinkmann is looking forward to competing for Rookie of the Year in the ASA Midwest Truck Tour in 2010, with his Action Custom Automotive, Inc., SMS Decals, Car Doctor sponsored Chevy.

Kyle gives all he can on and off the track. When he was only eight years old, Kyle approached his dad and said, "Dad, I want to see if we could gather enough food to fill my race trailer!" This was the launch of Kyle's charity, "Racing for a Reason". Over the past seven years, Kyle and his family have gathered and delivered 5,000 pounds of food to the Walworth County Food Pantry in Wisconsin. In addition, Kyle also supports the Race Against Drugs (RAD), a foundation working to help keep kids off of drugs.
